Will these hood supports fit a Bronco Everglades or work around an aftermarket air compressor?
They are not recommended for the Bronco Everglades because the strut can contact the Everglades intake pipe. Compatibility with aftermarket air compressors, brackets, and other engine-bay accessories depends on whether they occupy the strut path. Check both sides of the engine bay and test-close the hood slowly before completing the installation.
Does installation require drilling, and how does the upgraded bracket protect the hood?
No drilling is required. The supports use the existing hood and fender mounting locations. The upgraded upper bracket connects two hood mounting points to spread the lifting force across a wider area instead of concentrating it at one point. Install the plates flat and avoid overtightening the hardware.
Do I still need to use the factory hood prop rod?
No. After correct installation, the two gas struts support the hood without using the factory prop rod. The prop rod may be left in its original storage position as a backup, provided it does not interfere with the brackets or struts.
Will hood struts stop the Bronco hood from fluttering at highway speeds?
No. Hood lift supports are designed to raise and hold the hood while it is open. They are not a repair for hood movement while driving. If the hood flutters at speed, inspect the hood latches, rubber bump stops, alignment, and related factory components.
